Tyndall College maintain their 100% record
The Junior soccer team of Tyndall College overcame a spirited performance from Gaelcholaiste Pobal Osrai in their home venue on Tuesday March 6th. From the first whistle, Brandon Doyle was menacing on the left wing and he brilliantly set up Niki Judin for the game’s first goal on three minutes. Gaelcholaiste showed great resilience by replying within sixty seconds after a needless free was conceded by the Carlow boys. Though Tyndall College dominated possession for large parts of the first half, aided excellently by Boni Milinyango and Lais Zilericius they were unable to find the net. Within the last minute of the half Gaelcholaiste Pobail Osraí scored another well worked goal and took a one goal advantage at the break.
The second half started with great intensity from the Carlow boys and the tricky Doyle earned a penalty after thirty seconds. Zilericius expertly found the top corner. Tyndall College showed great link-up play in this half with Aaron O Neill showing great energy down the right and linking up with Edson Chaves at every opportunity. It was their great work that set up Judin for Tyndall’s third and leading goal. Jakie Ngobeni got in on the scoresheet after great work from man of the match Brandon Doyle, who ended up with a brace of his own late on in the match.
This was a very impressive display from a confident and talented Tyndall College Junior Soccer team. If they can maintain the standard of their second half performance, they will be contenders for the Kilkenny Carlow Junior Soccer league.
