Transition Years have been busy with a variety of workshops and trips in recent weeks. All students took part in the Harmony Project. This program deals with issues surrounding substance addiction and mental health and is very interactive. Delivered through the medium of music – primarily rap – it was an engaging workshop that dealt with sensitive topics in an enjoyable and teen-friendly way.
TY students also attended Zeminar in Dublin on Tuesday 10th October. Zeminar is an event created to bring everyone interested in the development and well-being of young people in Ireland to one place. It facilitates the introduction of young people to some of the best and most innovative organisations in the country. Students were treated to a variety of workshops, influential speakers, essential resources and fun activities. Guest speakers included Olympic heroes Gary and Paul O’Donovan and Sr Stan, founder of Focus Ireland. A very fulfilling day was had by all.
