This bursary is for the entire school cycle from first to sixth year and includes registration, locker, books and educational trips. Additional scholarships feature for specific subject excellence, including language awards for students who excel in Irish or in modern foreign languages.

Music Generation Carlow at Tyndall College
Tyndall College is County Carlow’s first Music Rich post-primary school – a designation by Music Generation Carlow, signifying a school that is committed to music tuition in partnership with Music Generation throughout the school programme. As a Music Rich School, Tyndall College offers a wide range of high quality music tuition opportunities.
Brass and Wood-wind Tuition scheme
All first-years students at Tyndall College are offered scholarship tuition in brass or wood-wind instruments.
The scholarship includes tuition provided in partnership with Music Generation Carlow, as well as materials and a loan of a professional-quality instrument from the Music Generation Carlow instrument bank. The tuition programme also includes performance event opportunities with Music Generation Carlow as part of the Tyndall College band.
Following first year, students who show significant promise are offered scholarships to continue their music tuition throughout the entire school cycle from first to sixth year. This includes specialist tuition, musical instrument loan and all performance opportunities as a member of the Tyndall College Band and with Music Generation Carlow.
General Music Tuition Scheme
All students at Tyndall College have access to music tuition with Music Generation Carlow, including specialist Rock Music (Guitar, Drums, Band), Voice and Choir, Composition and other instruments and styles. In addition to regular tuition workshops, Tyndall College students can participate in a wide range of Music Generation Carlow workshops, groups and events. Scholarships are offered to students who show exceptional promise in these activities.
Music Generation Carlow is a new music education service for County Carlow. It is part of Music Generation Ireland – a national music education programme developed by Music Network and funded by multi-million euro donations from U2, The Ireland Funds and the Department of Educational Skills.
