Christmas Celebration 2017 A Roaring Success!
On Tuesday 12th December the Sports Hall of Tyndall College was full to capacity as the whole school community came together for our Christmas Celebration. Over the course of the evening there were beautiful performances of Christmas favourites old and new by the school choir and a stunning trumpet duet of Driving Home For Christmas by TY student Erin Lennon and Sixth Year student Vittoria Spada.
Our First Year Music Generation Woodwind and Brass students, supported by some senior students, delighted the audience with their rendition of Jingle Bells. A big surprise on the night was a performance of O Holy Night by the newly formed Tyndall College Staff Choir with solos by Ms. Lena Bolger and Mr. Adrian Doyle.
Beautiful, thought-provoking reflections and readings greatly enhanced the celebration. The evening ended with a very special collaboration between the student and staff choirs, with instrumental accompaniment provided by a number of teachers on drums, French Horn, clarinet, flute and keyboard.
The choirs were conducted by Ms. Aisling Phelan and accompanied by Mr. Adrian Doyle and Ms. Maria Quinn but the whole event was very much supported by all staff and students without whom the night would not have been possible. A special word of thanks to all students who participated including soloists Emer Doyle, Chloe Broderick, Sophie Broderick, Erin Lennon, Chantell Doughty and Vittoria Spada. Many thanks also to the Parents Council who organised refreshments and a raffle.
