We are very proud to introduce our new school, which is designed to provide a dynamic, modern curriculum, with teaching and learning that prepares students to progress their ambitions in a vibrant, technical world. As a new school for Carlow, Tyndall College is designed to meet learning needs of students for many generations to come.

Whether you are about to start your First Year of post primary school, or joining our Transition Year or Senior Cycle, we are delighted to tell you bout the many exciting opportunities that are available to you at Tyndall College Carlow. Choosing a school is a very important decision and it is often hard to decide which school might be the right place for you. This prospectus aims to help your decision-making by providing you with a snapshot of what it is like to be part of the Tyndall College community.

Tyndall College is designed with magnificent facilities set on a new green-field site in the rolling countryside of Carlow, with views towards Killeshin Ridge and flanked in the distance by Mount Leinster. We have the security of an out-of-town setting combined with landscaped gardens and outdoor spaces. Tyndall College is entirely new, and you can find full details of the state-of-the-art facilities in ‘About Tyndall College’ section of this prospectus. These include fully-equipped science laboratories, language laboratories, state-of-the-art construction, art and engineering rooms, a new canteen service, library, computer suites, a fully equipped music room, as well as a modern sports hall and gym. A series of flood-lit all-weather surface pitches and a handball alley form part of this school facility.

Tyndall College has a committed, dynamic highly qualified teaching staff who will work in partnership with you to build on the strengths, skills and talents of your child so that they can achieve and reach their full potential. At Tyndall College, we aim to ensure that our students are equipped with personal skills and qualities as well as academic qualifications to meet the challenges of today’s world, and to progress into adulthood with a sense of purpose, happiness and vocation.

Education is about more than the acquisition of knowledge and qualifications – it also includes the personal growth and development of each individual. We want your child to be happy while learning in an atmosphere of friendship and respect. By nurturing both the academic and personal developmental of every child, we support our students to be leaders of their own learning and to take responsibility for their future.

We acknowledge the primary role of parents/guardians in the education of their children and always maintain a close relationship with you through the Parents’ Association, Home School Community Liaison, School Competition Programme and Parent-Teacher meetings. In addition, you are always welcome to visit the school to discuss your child’s progress.

I hope you enjoy learning about Tyndall College in this prospectus, and we look forward to welcoming you in person. Make sure that you take the opportunity to experience life at our school by visiting us at our Open Evening and viewing our website.
